Editorial transparency

How we verify reviews

Publishing useful reviews requires a clear process. On this page we explain what we check, what documentation we accept and when a review is flagged as verified on OpinionesIATI.com.

Our principles

  • We never label a review as "verified" without having checked it.
  • We do not accept anonymous reviews for the verification badge: we always ask for a real contact.
  • We present positive and negative experiences equally.
  • We do not accept payments or compensation in exchange for publishing, hiding or modifying reviews.
  • We do not share verification documentation with third parties.

Review levels

  1. Published review: the user has sent their experience through the form and accepted our terms. It is published after minimal editorial review (spelling, formatting and absence of defamatory or manifestly false content).
  2. Verified review: in addition to the submission, the user has provided at least one supporting document that reasonably proves the existence of an IATI insurance purchase related to the experience described.

Accepted verification documents

We accept documentation that proves the existence of the policy or of the incident. Valid examples:

  • Copy (or screenshot) of the purchase confirmation email sent by IATI.
  • Policy number and purchase date.
  • Payment receipt with an identifiable concept.
  • Copy of the correspondence with the insurer about the incident.
  • Claim file reference.

Before publishing the review, we anonymize personal data, policy numbers and any information that could identify the user or third parties. The documentation provided is not shown publicly.

What we do NOT verify

We cannot judge whether a specific decision by the insurer is correct or not. The verification proves that the policy purchase and the incident are real; the interpretation of the policy's terms is a matter for the parties involved, for customer service and, where applicable, for the competent authorities.

Non-admitted content

We do not publish reviews that contain:

  • Insults, threats or personal disqualifications.
  • Personal data of third parties without their consent.
  • Serious accusations without any supporting evidence.
  • Commercial references to other products or competitors.
  • Duplicated or manifestly automated content.

Retraction and rectification

Any person or entity that considers a published review to be inaccurate, misleading or damaging can request its review by writing to us from the contact page. We analyze each request and, if appropriate, edit, qualify or remove the content.

This document will be updated as the portal evolves and the volume of reviews received grows.
